Bulldog Fire and Security Attends Security Canada International Security Conference

The Bulldog Fire and Security and Fire Monitoring of Canada teams recently attended the annual Security Canada – International Security Conference and Expo by CANASA at the Toronto Congress Centre.  This event is one of Canada’s leading trade shows for security professionals, featuring over 160 exhibitors and thousands industry professionals.

Overview

The show not only included an incredible trade show component, but also featured 20 presentations throughout the two-day show.  The breadth of topics was outstanding, and included Smart Home solutions, video analytics, cloud AI, IP audio solutions, and much more!  The opening day was headlined by renowned cyber security expert, David Shipley.  Shipley provided a wealth of knowledge as it pertains to hacking, threats to smart devices, and the downfalls of blockchain as a form of cyber security.

The focus of the conference was clearly on video surveillance and alarm verification.  There were a handful of learning sessions that reviewed a variety of aspects of these topics including why it is becoming increasingly important, how to best execute it effectively, and some of the newest technologies available.

Highlights

We were lucky enough to receive an incredible demo from the Bosch Security and Safety Systems team.  It didn’t take them long to impress us with the seamless integration of all of their products.  Features like the intelligent video camera analytics, smart search integration with the intrusion system, and the ability to program smart voice messages depending on the alarm condition are definite game changers.

Senstar is an outstanding company that offers a suite of perimeter intrusion detection services.  We had a chance to talk to their team about the Senstar’s FlexZone detection sensor.  FlexZone is a cable-based system that mounts right to your fence, which has the ability to not only detect, but locate any attempt to compromise your exterior fence.

Wrap Up

We had an incredible time at the Security Canada – International Security Conference and Expo by CANASA.  The incredible vendors, informative presentations, and countless networking connections made it a must attend event for all of us, and we can’t wait for 2019.  Up next for our team is the PM Expo November 28-30, 2018 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.  We’ll be exhibiting at this event and we hope that everyone will stop by and see us at booth 1801.
